#BryanBuilt
In our debut episode, Superintendent Mark Rairigh defines the #BryanBuilt philosophy — grit, service above self, and a commitment to getting the job done right. We also have some fun, overview the state of the district, and spotlight notable accomplishments!
The State of Ohio recently passed a new State Law that dictates the age eligibility requirement to enroll in Kindergarten.
The State of Ohio recently passed HB114, requiring that children must be 5 years old by the first day of their district's school year to enroll in kindergarten. This new law goes into effect for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
The first day of school at Bryan City Schools for the 2026-27 school year is Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Kindergarten enrollment at BCS opens on March 2, 2026. More information for enrollment processes will be communicated with all families as we approach that date.
These changes are State Law, and were set by the State of Ohio. With that, we appreciate your understanding and partnership as we plan for these changes and remain compliant to state law.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Bryan City Schools at 419-636-6973.

The demolition phase for the back half (gymnasium and classrooms) of the facility will begin March 1, 2026 and conclude in June 2026. New construction will then begin in 2026 and carry through the calendar year 2027.
We look forward to these outstanding upgrades and enhancements to our district and the community!
BCS is happy to announce that the new Career Tech classes beginning with the 2026-2027 school year will be operated in partnership with Four County Career Center as a Satellite program. What does this mean? This allows BCS to own and operate the career tech facility, enroll only Bryan students into its courses, and help to develop the programming while Four County Career Center can then manage the administrative reporting and staffing of all Career Technical pathways and procedures.
With this now in place, the Career Technology Instructor has been hired, and we welcome Mr. Bernie Davis into the role!
Mr. Davis is a Bryan graduate, and brings a wealth of trades experience into the classroom. He most recently taught Industrial Arts classes at Montpelier Schools.
Welcome Mr. Bernie Davis!
Progress continues on the MS/HS expansion project that will add a Career Tech wing, a new Junior High Gymnasium, and a new Weight Room. The project is anticipated to be complete in June of 2026, with the new facilities ready for the 2026-2027 school year.
