From Mrs. Dominique:
The month of December is truly one of my favorites as a Principal of young students as the hallways are so full of joy this time of year! There are many upcoming events over these next couple of weeks and I look forward to visiting all the classrooms in the days ahead! We also look forward to all of the guests that will be in the building for special programming that will be happening as well!
Thank you to everyone who contributed to our food drive last month. The Bear Bag program is so beneficial to many of our families and your generosity is so very appreciated especially this time of year.
I would like to wish each and every one of our families a wonderful holiday season! I hope that you are able to find time to make memories while we are on our break. I always look forward to seeing the smiles walk back through the door and hearing the stories of how the students spent time with those they love. Please enjoy the time away from the day to day schedule and we look forward to finishing the year strong in 2026!!
A Tradition Takes Flight: The Second Grade "Balloons Over Broadway" Parade
The halls of BE were filled with color, music, and excitement for the annual Second Grade "Balloons Over Broadway" parade! We are thrilled to share the joy and incredible creativity of this beloved tradition.
Every year, our second-grade students take on the ambitious task of designing and constructing every single element of their parade! From towering, iconic "balloons" and inventive themed floats, to the unique, handmade instruments that make up the marching band, this project fosters collaboration, engineering skills, and boundless imagination. It is a fantastic showcase of our students' hard work and a true highlight of the school year.
From Mrs. Thormeier:
December is a month filled with anticipation, celebration, and gratitude. In the middle of the busy season, BE continues to shine because of the incredible people who make up our community—our students, families, teachers, and support staff. Whether we are sharing in a little fun, tackling new challenges, or supporting each other through these colder winter days, we continue to do it all together. The 5th graders recently showcased their musical talents and the family support at the evening concert was something to celebrate! There will be plenty more opportunities to partner together over the coming months and we look forward to seeing many of you at those events.
Along with all the holiday excitement the beginning of December brings a second round of iReady diagnostic testing and a chance to reflect on the progress our students have made this fall. Our teachers continue to engage students in learning, and we are proud of the academic growth taking place across our classrooms. Upon returning in the new year the upper grades will jump right back in to the coursework for the second trimester and begin drawing more attention to the spring state tests that will happen in April.
As grades 3-5 finish out 2025 and we all look forward to a restful winter break, I wish each of you a season filled with moments that bring you happiness and time with those you love.
The students in 5th grade had their fall concert on Thursday, November 20th. Students who joined Band and and Orchestra performed for the first time with those ensembles and ALL 5th graders participated in the choral portion of the evening. It was a great night of music and a specials thanks goes out to Mr. Luthy, Mr. Simul and Mrs. Boyd for all their hard work and preparations.
