Preschoolers are excited to explore new concepts about Spring. Students are learning about clouds and practicing their letters as they write in fluffy white shaving cream. Preschoolers planted lima beans to understand how plants grow and now have their Little Sprout Houses at home to share the process with their families as the lima beans grow. Another spring activity was to learn about the life cycle of a butterfly. Students colored, cut and glued the sequence of the cycle. They made it into a hat to wear and share their knowledge with others.
Kindergarten has been busy since returning from Spring Break! We recently did our author study on Mo Willems. We read many books, crafts and ended our week with a Hotdog Party! Over the last few weeks we have had some fun with Spring activities. We began our ABC Countdown to finish out our year! A is for paper airplanes and B is for bubbles!
Morning STEM buckets are used in the classroom on a regular basis. The students work in groups to make creations during their morning work time. The buckets have things like Lincoln Logs, blocks, and other types of materials to build with. This provides a great opportunity for the kids to be creative and work with others.
Second graders at BE are having fun learning about how worms change the environment. Pictured here are our students participating in setting up and creating a grade-level compost bin. A big thanks goes out to Ann Marie Michaels from the Williams Soil & Water Conservation District.
Our 1st and 2nd graders performed their spring concert on Wednesday, April 23rd at the Arts and Education Center. Under the direction of Mrs. Meghan Grime, the students performed a number of vocal selections. They did an amazing job!
