It's the race to the finish!
As the weather seems to finally be turning for the better, the final weeks of the school year become filled with many, many activities, ceremonies, concerts, recognitions, and beyond. The common denominator in all of these events and activities is CELEBRATION!
With that, let's CELEBRATE the outstanding attributes and accomplishments of our students and staff with high praise as we close out another great school year. As we always say, our students and the community continue to AMAZE us in all that we do. For that we are thankful, and we are happy to be a part of their success.
We wish everyone a strong finish to the school year and don't forget to cherish the memories... they will last a lifetime!
Governor Mike DeWine, Lt. Governor Jim Tressel, and State Representative Jim Hoops attended the BCS Groundbreaking Ceremony to celebrate the beginning of the Career Tech, Gym, and Weight Room project.
The ceremony was a time of celebration to thank the many individuals who support and who have helped to make this project a reality!
The project has officially begun with construction equipment moving in, and ground will continue moving in the days to follow!
We are excited to begin this journey!
Curious about what the new addition will look like? Here is a video rendering of the new space which will include the new Junior High gym, concession stand, weight room, and the Career Tech classrooms.

Coming next school year, Bryan City Schools will be using ParentSquare for all school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. We have several groups within the school currently testing this platform, and plan on piloting it with the entire district beginning in May. ParentSquare will replace all communication tools currently being used, and will be the single place for all school communication starting next school year.
ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their information that is currently in PowerSchool. We encourage parents to download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
Students (MS/HS) can use the StudentSquare app as well to connect with coaches and teachers.
Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:
Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification
Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm
Communicate in your preferred language
Direct message teachers, staff and other parents
Sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards, sign up to volunteer and more.
All current parent/guardian contacts will receive a ParentSquare invitation this week. Please review the information to set up your account.
We will continue to use SchoolMessenger for attendance and alerts through the end of this school year and then all staff will transition to using ParentSquare for the 25-26 school year. During the transition period, you may receive duplicate messages from both systems.
Note that Bryan City Schools is eliminating Facebook Messenger as a district communication tool as of June 30, 2025. Please use the messaging feature of ParentSquare as a replacement.
This year, Bryan City Schools has been selected to complete a Family Engagement Survey to collect information about the special education programming and services your child receives. The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) would like to invite the families of students receiving special education services on an Individualized Education Plan to participate in a short, 25 question survey about their involvement in their student’s education.
The purpose of collecting this information is to improve services for students with disabilities across the state of Ohio. If you are eligible to participate and you enroll in the study, you will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card. The survey is open now through May 7, 2025.
Participation in this survey is voluntary. If you have a child who is on an IEP, you should have received an email on March 14 with the link to the survey. If you have any issues accessing that link or have questions/concerns about the survey, please reach out to Mrs. Kyleigh Meeker-Blad at the Elementary or Mrs. Julie Taylor at the 6-12 Building.
Each year the Benedict Outstanding Educator Award is issued to one of our outstanding staff members in an effort to recognize their dedication to our students, and beyond.
The nomination form for this award is now available through the Bryan Area Foundation website and you can submit a form by navigating HERE.
Nominations are due by April 25, 2025.
In an effort to allow all BCS stakeholders the opportunity to plan ahead, the district continues a rotation of approving school calendars two years in advance.
With this said, the district has approved the 2026-2027 school calendar and it is now available for your viewing.
