On April 22, Carver is presenting Seeds of Stewardship at GreenSpark!
After submitting a competitive proposal, Carver has been selected to present our National Wildlife Federation Eco-Schools Green Flag action project, Seeds of Stewardship, at Green Spark 2026, a nationwide virtual showcase celebrating K–12 students who are turning ideas into real solutions for people and the planet.
Our students will be presenting in the “Protecting Nature” session on April 24 from 1:25–2:05 PM (EDT), sharing how we are connecting kids to nature, increasing biodiversity on our campus through native habitats, native seed collection, invasive species removal, and stewardship of native species. In the session, “Protecting Nature," we are presenting with schools from California, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. Our presentation is 5 minutes and then we will host a breakout room where we will share more about our project and answer questions from participants.

Carver spent the day sharing our Eco-Story, engaging the community, and supporting our partner, the Richmond Hill Garden Club at their annual plant sale. Everyone loved the student created native seed packets that we passed out! We also spent time with our collaborative stewardship partner, Richmond Hill High School. The students of the RHHS Greenhouse have been growing our native seeds! All of us share a common goal: connect kids to nature and increase the biodiversity of the Ogeechee River basin.

In April, Carver's Eco-Story is featured on the "Get Inspired" section of MacroBlitz's website: https://www.macroblitz.org/get-inspired. Carver has contributed data to MacroBlitz for two years and macroinvertebrate surveys and the creation of fish habitat was a part of our 24-25 Eco-Schools Green Flag stewardship Action Plan. This year, we continued to contribute to MacroBlitz as part of our Citizen Science Action Plan and have submitted over 353 observations for 28 species to MacroBlitz!
