My Community Service Plan:
For my community service I needed to shift my perspective. I took it on thinking I would do marketing related community service, but finding community service for marketing is difficult, and is even more so considering the impact it needed to have. I decided to switch to something that had an impact for me, that I could help market. I have always loved animals, so I decided to reach out to local animal shelters to see if they needed any assistance.
The Richmond SPCA was one of the shelters I reached out to, and they informed me that they had their annual Dog Jog coming up at the end of March, and would love the help. After starting in January, my main focus was helping market the Dog Jog to younger audiences, including students and youth clubs.Â

The Dog Jog
Due to unfortunate weather, the Dog Jog was split into two days, March 23 and March 24. The 5K and Dog Jog took place on their original date of March 23, where a surprising amount of runners showed up and did their best considering the cold, wind, and rain. Throughout the day, I mostly helped with the prize wheel they had available, in which participants were able to spin for $1 and win a variety of prizes, from a free mini golf game to free samples of soap. I was unable to help for the block party on March 24, but I had a wonderful time working with the Richmond SPCA and helping them organize this event!
