Mesopotamia is one of the earliest civilizations with a long history of inventions and innovations. This civilization was settled in around 8,000 B.C.E. in between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. The area it was settled in was called the Fertile Crescent due to its extremely fertile land and its crescent shape. The access to water and fertile land attracted groups of hunter-gatherers that eventually, with the increased usage of agriculture, became the civilizations of Mesopotamia. The civilizations continued to advance and create, which led to the inventions of the Code of Law, the wheel, mathematics, irrigation, cuneiform, and the plow.
