Each group will be responsible for creating a website that highlights the most important technological developments or innovations of their assigned historical period. Each student will be responsible for at least one individual "Room" (web page) for the site, and ALL members will contribute to the Entrance, Works Cited, and Attachment pages. In addition, each student will have a separate editorial role to fulfill.
All groups must use the email address on the group assignment spreadsheet just below the group number for all communication.
Groups will create contracts assigning inventions, roles and processes, using the contract that can be found in the Group Files page on the Workday.
All text within the Entrance Page and Museum Rooms must be submitted to TurnItIn.
Each group's Virtual Museum website must contain the following:
The Entrance Page - All students must contribute to the Entrance Page. It should contain between 300 and 400 words of text, and should present all of the following information:
A general introduction that includes the information about the location, geography and general history of the civilization or time period that the website will present, using in text citations or reference phrases as needed. (According to..., As found in...)
A timeline of significant events for that civilization or time period (2 events per student)
A list of all museum rooms, with FIRST NAME ONLY of the "curators" of each rooms, and brief descriptions of what can be found in each room. This section should also contain hyperlinks to each of the site's rooms.
Significant images that represent the civilization or time period being featured on the site, with identification numbers and captions explaining the images.
3 to 5 links to other websites with related information and why a visitor might find them interesting
Museum "Rooms" - Every student in the group must create a Museum Room which should feature a specific invention or innovation for the team's civilization. Rooms should contain between 300 and 400 words of text, use in text citations or reference phrases as needed. (According to..., As found in...) and should present ALL of the following information:
Background information on why this invention or innovation was needed by this civilization
How was the invention made?
What impact did the invention have on this civilization?
What (if any) impact did the invention have on later civilizations?
What else made this invention so historically important?
At least two images relating to the invention and/or information on the page with identification numbers and captions explaining the images.
3 to 5 links to other websites with related information and why a visitor might find them interesting
The Map Room - Each person should contribute a minimum of 2 locations on the map with a relevant image, explain the significance, and initial their items in the description. The Map Room must show major locations related to the group's historical civilization including such things as:
Sites of significant political features, such as cities, boundaries, etc.
Sites of significant archaeological discoveries from that civilization
Sites of major conflicts, such as battles or wars
Sites of major events, such as locations of specific inventions where known

The Works Cited page - The Works Cited page lists reference sources for each website page specifically.
Format should be MLA .
All links should work.
Image "citations" are allowed to be links to the original source but must be numbered to match the identification number in the caption of the image.
The Attachment Page - The Attachment Page contains the following embedded documents:
