Journal
Senior Journal
Every BRVGS Senior will keep an online reflective journal. Please see the BRVGS Senior Journal Rubric for grading guidelines.
You will be required to answer specific prompts for at least TWO entries in Modules 1, 2 and 3.
Reflective journals must be accompanied by evidence (photos, links to weekly plans, documentation of contacts, clear descriptions of actions taken, etc.). Consult with your senior advisor if you are not sure what to use for “evidence” for a particular journal.
Each Journal entry is to be between 250 - 500 words. It is strongly suggested that you write a draft of your journal in a Google Doc and then copy and paste into the Journal page, particularly before you start your senior project site.
Journals should not be merely a record of what you did this past week. They should be about your own learning and your reaction to different experiences in the project.
Final Reflection
Your final written component should be a reflective piece on the entire BRVGS Senior Capstone PLE, Research and Community Service project. This will be presented on a separate page of your Senior Website, and must meet the following requirements: and answer :
The reflection must be from 400 to 500 words in length.
Your reflection should include information from all aspects of your senior experience.
Your reflection should answer the following:
How has this experience been important to you and to your community?
What have you learned personally from your professional learning experience, research and community service?
What advice would you give to someone else who is starting out on their BRVGS Senior Project?
How do you anticipate that this experience will help or influence you in the future?
Some students choose to make their final reflection a separate page. This is not required, but if you choose to do so, please include an entry on your regular journal page that contains a link to the separate reflection page.
