Welcome to our website! Here you can learn all about the Arabidopsis thaliana plant and the effects of calcium nitrate on this plant.
Calcium nitrate (Ca(NO₃)₂ ) is an inorganic chemical compound. It is often used as a fertilizer for plants with calcium deficiencies due to it being a great source of calcium and nitrogen, which plant's require to grow healthy and to perform photosynthesis.
Calcium nitrate was selected as the variable in this experiment to observe the potential growth benefits of it. The information from the experiment will be given to Virginia Tech and used in future experiments.
If we disable the AAP6 gene, then the Arabidopsis thaliana plant will experience less bolt growth as compared to normal Arabidopsis plants.
2. If we add (Ca(NO₃)₂) to Arabidopsis thaliana, then the plant will experience more bolt growth than Arabidopsis plants not recieving additional calcium nitrate.
