Dr Joshua Epps
For the MOCHA/WOCHA/POCHA Programs of the University of Virginia's Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Dr. Joshua Epps serves as the program manager. The Men of Color, Honor, and Ambition, Women of Color, Honor, and Ambition, and People of Color, Honor, and Ambition programs main focus is on the progress made by students of color both at UVA and in the local communities. As the Program Manager, Dr. Epps has extensive experience managing a variety of programs and interacting with students. On August 21, I sent him an email asking him to be my mentor, and he said he would be happy to assist me with my internship. On September 3, we held our first virtual meeting to officially launch the internship. Dr. Epps advised me to conduct research surrounding my topic. He then told me how to use that research to design a mentoring program with a professionally detailed plan and a research paper. He offered me the chance to show the PowerPoint Plan to University of Virginia students and get their input after I finished it.
This photo showcases the email where I first contacted Dr Epps about becoming my mentor. I received his official agreeance on September 3, 2024 during our first virtual meeting.
