My mentor has been an educator at Louisa County High School for most of her career. Each year, she runs, her run benefits the Lion Pride Scholarship. The scholarship goes to a Louisa County High School senior to help them afford college, no matter what their financial situation is. Last year, for example, she ran from each school in the county.
Her runs make money through GoFundMes and in kind donations, and this makes her the perfect mentor for my community service. She has lots of experience with how GoFundMe and fundraisers work. Throughout the process of running my GoFundMe fundraiser she has been able to teach me how to keep the GoFundMe running.

The goal of my Community Service Project is to provide the women of Louisa with a minimum of six months worth of supplies. These supplies will all be sent to the Louisa County Resource Council for distribution with food that is already provided monthly. I aim to provide these products in a number of ways, and by using multiple formats of drive. These drives are run in different ways to accommodate different people's comfort levels with the internet and with the products in general.
My GoFundMe page accrued over 1,000 dollars which is more than triple my original goal of $300.
My in person drives have acquired 84 products as of 10/30/19. The organization Sylvia's Sisters is willing to match that number up to 150. However, because of how much money I raised Sylvia's Sisters was willing to provide me with 162 boxes of product.
Some people are unable to donate virtually or are weary of putting their credit card information in online. These people donated in person with product or money, the overall total of money not collected via GoFundMe is $133. The 83 dollars was used to buy 36 boxes of feminine hygiene products.
I was given a donation of $200 from the Walmart that resides in Zions Crossroads. With this money, I was able to buy 77 boxes of pads, tampons, and panty liners to provide to the Louisa County Resource Council.
To the left is my GoFundMe page link. On this page, I increased my goal multiple times and ended up with $1,078 in donations. All the money that I received will be used to buy product and all product will be going to the Louisa County Resource Council. At the Council, which is pictured to the right, it will be distributed to women in need.
