These journals come in two varieties: Required and Reflective Journals. Required Journals are assigned prompts that students are required to answer or reflect on. It can range from answering why you chose to research something to reflecting on a video from an inspirational speaker. Overall, these journals are meant to help one explore their passions and thinking processes but in a structured, thoughtful format.
As for Reflective journals, these are more, well, reflective. This allows one to really dig deep within themselves to evaluate and/or analyze themselves, the project, or other aspects of one's life. There is no specific prompt to follow; instead, it really focuses on deeper critical thinking and more focused analytical skills. While both journals somehow focus on the overall experience, the Reflective journals should be found to be more personalized to the author.
Overall, these journals are nothing more than writing one's thoughts and feelings about experiences and the project. As you read through these, feel free to analyze responses to the prompts that were assigned, along with how I felt during the project. In the end though, just ENJOY delving into the thoughts, opinions, and feelings of students towards the BRVGS Senior Capstone Project and life in general
What exactly are these journals?
