The Vikings civilization triumphed from the 8th century to the 11th century. They originated from the northern lands of Scandinavia and were well known for their infamous raids of vulnerable monasteries and were also known for their exploration. Vikings were also known as Norsemen because they lived in the harsh cold north. They contributed inventions such as the iconic Longboats, various deadly weapons, historical literature, forms of government, and metal-working techniques.
