Jump into reading and math with a twist! We will enjoy outdoor and indoor games, crafts, math, reading, and writing activities. Kids will explore hands-on science and engineer based activities. Every day will be a new adventure with lots of fun and learning!

We are going to put the FUN in fundamentals and help you improve your basketball skills. You will learn the basics of the game like dribbling, passing, shooting, and defense. Between drills and fun games, you will be well on your way to becoming the best basketball player you can be!

Students will focus on fundamental skills like serving, passing, setting, and hitting, while also learning teamwork, communication, and game strategies. Each day will include drills, skill-building activities, and exciting scrimmages to put those skills into action!
This class will look at all the different types of animals around our area and far away. All About Animals will have fun filled activities that go over the different classes of animals and all the fun facts about them. You will learn new characteristics of animals around the world. There will be a possibility of seeing some animals up close at school!!
In this class, students will explore, build, test, and improve! Through fun, hands-on activities, students learn how science, technology, engineering, math, and art connect to the world around them. From designing structures to coding and experimenting, students develop teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking skills in an engaging environment.
Babysitter’s Training with Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification
Date: June 8th , 9th and 10th
Students must be 11 years old by start date of class to participate.
Class is limited to 12 participants.
Cost is $42.00. Pay by cash or check made out to Rusk County Public Health. Payment is due June 8 th .
This class provides the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly care for children and infants. Whether you’re planning to babysit in the future or already babysitting this class will help you build your skills to be a trusted and reliable babysitter. With fun learning and practice of skills you’ll be prepared and confident to care for infants and children. Topics covered include: Basic child care skills, Practice of skills including, holding, feeding, and diapering, Choosing age appropriate activities, Promoting positive behavior and managing challenges, Responding to emergencies, including care of choking children/infants, how to provide first aid, and perform CPR.
With successful completion of this class students will receive: American Red Cross Babysitter’s Training Certification that is valid for 10 years. American Red Cross Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED Certification that is valid for 2 years. Students must attend and successfully complete all class sessions to earn these certifications.
There are no written exams for this class.
