I was born and raised in South San Francisco where my parents still live. I grew up in a community where my parent friends and children are my family. I ventured out to Southern California for college and moved back because I love the Bay Area so much. My brother and I switched places and he now lives in Southern CA.
Mrs. Kuheana as a Kindergartener
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine and my multiple subject credential with a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from the Bay Area Teacher's Training institute in affiliation with University of Pacific.
I believe that building strong relationships is the first step to a successful foundation in the classroom. I value the time and effort to make a classroom community that students and teacher are able to learn and teach from one another. I love greeting each student in my classroom each day, engaging in meaningful activities in which we can work together as a team, and taking the time to discuss problems that arise in the classroom as a class and find ways to solve it together. By creating an inclusive classroom, my students are able to fearlessly share ideas and thoughts with one another. This is my sixth year teaching at Sandpiper and I am excited to teach Kindergarten again. Also, Kindergarten is my dream grade to teach!
I enjoy baking, cooking, traveling, and exploring the hiking trails in the Bay area and especially spending time with my family and friends.
