Temperature Controls in Temporary Housing Spaces
On Campus Temporary Housing Rooms in Minden
If you are assigned to isolate in Minden, you have been provided with a Brown issued space heater to use.
Space heaters require care. Never place your space heater directly in front of or behind fabric, paper, or objects that will impede circulation of air.
Do not plug your space heater into the same outlet as your refrigerator, microwave, or devices.
If you are in Minden, see information about controlling Minden radiators and fixtures.
Fans are available for these spaces upon request during warmer months.
Special Cleaning Procedures in Temp Housing Rooms
All temporary housing areas are cleaned thoroughly between occupants.
A third party cleaning service provides a high level sanitizing of all vacated temporary housing. You may see them during your stay.
A white dust or residue is a normal by product of the sanitizing procedure as the special cleaning products dry. This residue can simply be brushed off surfaces.
Cleaning During Your Stay in Temporary Housing or Your Own Room
You are responsible for cleaning your own area during your stay.
All dorms and temp housing areas have supplies available for cleaning.
Regardless of where you are isolating, please take out your trash, wipe surfaces, and manage your laundry needs.
When you vacate a temporary housing room, kindly pack or remove any remaining food or beverage items and take out your trash. You may keep any unused supplies that have been provided for you in your room, such as toilet paper or cleaning wipes.
