The materials available below describe the framing and preliminary findings of several core elements of the HITS project.

The project is a work in progress, and consequently, this material is less a pre-publication draft than a mid-course overview of what has been accomplished so far. Ultimately, the research will yield several journal articles and a book manuscript, but the write-up below is neither a draft article nor a book prospectus; rather, it is a “talking paper,” designed to elicit comments and suggestions while we can still adjust course.
