The idea of the on campus portion of Art Has Life is to occupy a spaces on campus where Brown students may express their art continually. Imagine a big glass cube with canvas stretched across one side, music playing in the space, and materials to create whatever you'd like. Artists can come and cover portions of the canvas and witness how others build on their art and interpret it over the course of a couple of weeks. Musicians on campus can have their music played in the space, etc. After a couple of weeks, the canvas will be photographed, added to this site, and switched out for a brand new one or for other materials. The goal of this part of Art Has Life is to have art by Brown students continually expressing themselves and collaborating as a form of self care, etc, and therefore bringing art and life to Brown's campus. This part of our organization is in the design phase and we will be working with a team of architects and the university to make our vision a reality!
This portion of the project aims to connect students from any concentration to hospitals, prisons, organizations, and galleries in the area through art. Art Has Life and is often underrated as a method of healing, self-care, and love. Different groups will form with the goals of creating and carrying out programming and events. Some of these programs and events will be for children and others for adults, so the breadth of possibilities is endless. Members may also opt to work individually and that is extremely welcome. We want to help you express your art and provide you with a range of opportunities that help others as well. See the "Should I Get Involved" page for all of the ways in which we could use your talent and whatever you consider art. (i.e. regardless of your concentration!)
