I am excited to teach this class, partly because my research focuses on differential equations, modelling, and application to biological systems (check out my personal website for details of what I work on).
Outside of work, I row out of Narragansett Boat Club on the Seekonk river (at the very end of Angell Street) and spent time with my partner Alice and our rescue birds Gong Gong, Jojo, Noobie, and Reepicheep.
I am a former graduate student of Bjorn, and my research is on differential equations and dynamical systems; I also have a history project on early US diplomatic history.
Some of my hobbies are karate, going to the mountains and reading various (history) books. On the second image on the right you can see me with my teammates from Brown's karate club.

Hello! I'm Nader Maarouf, a junior concentrating in Applied Math-Biology on the pre-med track. In the future, I hope to become a physician-scientist so I can not only provide care to patients and conduct impactful research but also teach and travel. Outside of class, I do research on GI cancers in the Liver Research Center, volunteer at the Miriam Hospital ER as well as the Refugee Dream Center, and manage Arab Society as well as Humanitarian Society. Please reach out if you're interested in any of these activities!
I love to exercise particularly strength training, running, and mixed martial arts. I also really enjoy peer advising including academics, careers, and general campus life. You're more than welcome to come to me if you ever need anything inside or outside of the classroom. Taking APMA 0350 helped me decide on my concentration which led to me securing competitive research positions. I wish you all the best in the course this semester and I look forward to meeting all of you! Contact me personally via email: nader_maarouf@brown.edu

Hi! I'm a second semester junior studying Applied Math and Computer Science and I'm super excited to be your TA this year! Outside of class I play violin in Brown's Orchestra and captain the Women's Varsity Equestrian team but when I'm not doing either of those things I live in the Barus and Holley cafe.
I took 350 with Bjorn a couple semesters ago and really loved it so I'm hoping I can help make the experience equally enjoyable for you all (especially now that we are back in person). I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!
