Sophomore Service - Community Mentoring Program (CMP)
Welcome to CMP!
You are required to complete 40 hours of service by the end of your sophomore year. We do this to be open to growth, to show love in our community, to be men for and with others, and to care for the youth in our community.
Requirements:
Attend orientation
Find a service site. If it is not a pre-approved site, you must ask for approval from Ms. Lauder (mlauder@brophyprep.or).
Sites need to be a non-profit 501c3, that are primarily focused on caring for marginalized youth. You should be working directly with young people.
You can do service with your local faith community.
Communicate with Ms. Lauder about where you are doing service, even if it is pre-approved.
Set your schedule and complete 4hours. Your hours are due May 10th.
Submit all hours using MobileServe. You need an email address from your service site for an adult who can verify your hours.
Submit a flipgrid reflection in December (the link will be shared with you).
Participate in an in person, after school reflection towards the end of the school year. You will be invited to a group.
Remember you represent Brophy out in our community and the young people you will work with watch you. Put your best foot forward and fully engage with the young people you serve.
Direct all sophomore service questions to Ms. Lauder mlauder@brophyprep.org
Peace -
Ms. Lauder
Students will complete their service hours through one of the community partner sites listed here.
These sites consistently provide students face to face encounters with their client base, allowing students to develop interpersonal relationships.
These sites also serve a variety of local areas, hopefully accommodating students living in every part of Phoenix.
The OFJ is available to assist students in completing their service hours.
If you have questions regarding CMP, or are in need of assistance, please contact Ms. Lauder.
Thank you for your openness to our new program and your willingness to serve as “Men for and with Others”.
