Starting and Joining Clubs

Leader of a club? Use Brophy's Club Planning Mentor to help plan your year

What is a club at Brophy? Clubs and organizations are a big part of Brophy life! A club is “a group of students organized with a similar interest for a social, literary, athletic, political, or other common purpose. Simply put, clubs offer students the chance to regularly engage in community with their peers and adults outside of the classroom.

How do I start a club? If you're a returning leader/member of a club from last year, you should watch the video above and then contact your moderator to make sure the club is registered. Every club must be re-registered at the beginning of each year. If you're looking to start a new club on campus (you can use last year's club list as a reference point) please watch the video above and then follow these three steps.

How do I sign-up for a club? On August 19th you will have the opportunity to visit every club Brophy offers during our Club & Activity Expo. You will have until 60 minutes to visit as many clubs as you’d  like across campus before we ask you to return to your  team room to have a conversation about the clubs you visited and what they saw. Our expectation is that you are actively visiting clubs or helping recruit new members for a club they you already involved with.

Is there a sign-up window for clubs? Clubs will re-register during the beginning of every fall semester but with some limited exceptions students can join a club at any point during the year. Students looking to start a club outside of the club registration period should contact Mr. Burr at pburr@brorphyprep.org

How many clubs should I join?  Determining the amount of student clubs and organizations that you should join is an individual choice. There is no written rule for the optimal number of clubs and organizations one should join. A good rule of thumb is to make sure any club you commit to you are able to attend a minimum of 75% of their meetings. Clubs are only meaningful if you are consistent in your engagement.
