Welcome to Brophy Theatre
Following in the footsteps of St. Ignatius of Loyola, we are dedicated to serving others, and the theatre program is committed to embarking on this mission in, with, and through the arts. Each Brophy production is dedicated to a community organization or charity.
This year, we are finally back in person for all shows and are so excited to welcome you back to campus. Our focus this year is "walking with youth" and exploring Theatre as a Pathway to Civil Discourse and Community Organizing.
During the 2020-2021, we navigated how to foster community engagement, tell stories, and "stay connected" in a world swirling with civil unrest and social distancing. We devised a Film & Theatre Project in the fall and reimagined a classical Shakespeare play in the spring that encouraged audience participation...all the while following our AMDG protocol.
During the 2019-2020 school year, our plays and programming were centered on the idea of Personal Objectives vs. Public Responsibility. What do we do when we want to take care of ourselves and our family, but the world around us needs our help? Through performance and technical theatre, we explored the tension and balance present in our family and community roles and responsibilities.
Thank you for visiting our website. You, the audience, are a key factor in our "work." We would love to hear from you!
