FL01: Corel Draw Import Drawing

Open CorelDRAW (On either PC by the laser cutters) by LEFT CLICKING on the CorelDRAW icon in the task bar at the bottom right of the screen.

2. Click New Document or New to create a new document

3. Select File and Import

4. Left Click on the Location where your File is located (Downloads, Desktop, flash drive, etc)

5. Select Appropriate drawing format from the lower right corner of the window

This example uses DXF

6. LEFT CLICK on the desired drawing and LEFT CLICK on Import

7. Make sure the settings are as shown in the picture and click OK:

8. Move the locator to the upper left hand position of the square and LEFT CLICK once to set position and size.

IMPORTANT: LEFT CLICK ONLY TO SET LOCATION AND SIZE!!!! DO NOT LEFT CLICK AND DRAG. THIS WILL CHANGE THE SIZE.

9. Your part should appear on the drawing similar to this with all lines selected.

10. Select all lines by creating a selection box outside your part by

LEFT CLICKING in the Upper Left Corner, outside your part
Holding the LEFT MOUSE Button down
Move to the Lower Right Hand corner, outside your part
Release the LEFT MOUSE Button

11. With all lines selected, LEFT CLICK on Hairline to insure the proper width of all lines for the Laser cutter

12. With all lines still selected, LEFT CLICK on the Arrange tab at the top of the dialog box and LEFT CLICK on Join Curves to open the join curves window. (The Join Curves window may already be open)

Make sure the gap tolerance is set at 0.15".

13. LEFT CLICK on the Apply box in the Join Curves dialog box on the right section of the window.

If your part looks distorted after pressing Apply
1. Press the undo button
2. Reduce the gap tolerance to 0.10".
3. Press Apply
4. If distortion continues repeat above steps with a reduced gap tolerance

14. Proceed to FL02 CorelDraw Setting Colors and Printing to Laser
