Stratasys UPrint 3D printers ONLY work on the computer shown below
Click on the GrabCAD Print software icon on the lower tool bar
1. If you are exporting a part from Onshape, export in SOLIDWORKS format.
2. After Clicking the GrabCAD Print Software the screen on the right should pop up.
3. Click Add Models on the top left corner of the screen
3. Select the file you just exported and press open in the bottom right corner.
Orientation allows you select how the part will lay on the tray in the printer. The optimal orientation will minimize the amount of support material used and maximize the strength of the part. Use your judgement to place the part in its most optimal position.
1. The SOLIDWORKS picture will appear on the screen in an initial orientation for printing (This generally will have to be revised).
2. Next click on the right of the screen the Orient Button
3. Then click Auto Orient.
(Although this works most of the time do not expect it to be perfect every time if you see something that looks bad change it or ask somebody)
Before you print you need to place the part on a "Pack Plate" but this takes more thought than you would think because we reuse plates.
So to get a good print FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS.
LEFT CLICK and HOLD to move the part to the optimal location on the plate
Only place parts on locations on the plate where prior parts have not been printed
Generally "shiny" lines show where old parts were printed
Make sure no support material remains on the plate
Try to print on corners first.
Rotate the Part
Enter the degrees you want to rotate the part.
LEFT CLICK on the "+" and "-" to rotate the part the desire number of degrees.
The orientation of the Preview Window Above matches the plate as Shown below with the handle at the bottom
Select the correct Printer from the Name Pull Down menu next to the Print button.
Printer Choices are Left or Right (stickers on computer show which printer is which)
LEFT CLICK on Print
1. Open 3D Printer Door
2. Install Plate
Make sure blue tabs are turned up.
3. Close door and PRESS the gray button next to the flashing "START MODEL"
4. The printer will display "BUILDING CALIBRATION" as it warms up.
5. It will automatically start up when ready
