Procedures

Specific BIS/BHS information:

• There are two wings to the Library with the circulation desk in the middle of the room. BHS students are not allowed, without permission from Mrs. Davis, to go on the BIS side. BIS students are not allowed, without permission from Mrs. Davis, to go on the BHS side. Our check-out system will also block any student in 8th grade or below from checking out a book that is cataloged for BHS.

•  If BIS students want to check out “HS ONLY!” or “Parental Permission Required” books, a parent/guardian permission slip is required which then becomes part of the students’ account. It stays on the student’s record until the parent/guardian says otherwise.

• If a BHS student would like to check out a book labeled  “Parental Permission Required”, they also have to turn in a parent/guardian permission slip that becomes part of the students’ account.

• Subsequently, if your student does not have permission to check out a certain book and they try, the system will block the transaction. 

• If at any time you do not want your student to check out a particular genre or topic of book, please notify Mrs. Davis by email and she will make your request part of the students account record.
