United Kingdom Standing Conference on Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Education: Terms of Reference:
To act as a forum for the discussion and exchange of information and ideas between the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) delivering Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Education programmes.
To advise the representatives of relevant government departments on any matters, including those outside the remit of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, which relate to the education and training of Specialist Community Public Health Nurses
To represent SCPHN education on matters with reference to the wider public health workforce developments
To disseminate the position of the United Kingdom Standing Conference on educational matters to appropriate bodies.
To undertake and encourage appropriate investigations and research related to Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Education
To develop collegiate working relationships with organisations involved in public health education.
Constitution
That each Higher Educational Institution (HEI) developing SCPHN programmes and those Approved Education Institutions (AEIs) delivering SCPHN programmes shall be entitled to send lecturers in Specialist Community Public Health Practice.
That professional organisation partnership attendance includes the four Nations of England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.v
That each HEI shall pay an annual affiliation fee, the amount of which shall be reviewed from time to time by UKSC.
Normally 3 meetings of the UKSC shall be held each year, one of which shall be the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
The election of officer bearers and honorary auditors shall normally take place every three years.
By decision of UKSC, designated working groups shall be set up from time to time within a specific framework of reference.
Committee membership will comprise of a chair, vice chair, secretary, communications officer and treasurer
The Committee can make decisions and actions on behalf of the membership
