Paramedic Science students generally need cars in order to get to their placements, but city planning conditions mean that we are restricted from allowing students to live in our halls accommodation with cars. We therefore keep back properties from our Brookes Lettings housing portfolio especially for paramedics so that they can have access to parking.
Most of Oxford requires permits for on-street parking, and houses rarely have enough driveway space for all occupiers, so it may be that you need to obtain a parking permit. We suggest that housemates coordinate together to share the costs of these permits amongst themselves for fairness' sake.
Additionally, sharing with other students studying the same course means that your particular course requirements (e.g. night-time placement work) will be better appreciated amongst house sharers than they possibly would in a halls environment.

Tip- You are unlikely to need your car for placements until after the Christmas break, and you can apply for a refund on your parking permit for the remainder of the year when you move out- so if you want to save money, you could just get a permit from January to May and pay less than half the cost of a full year.
