About the researcher

Siân Anderson is a doctoral researcher at Oxford Brookes University. Her PhD focuses on specialist mentoring in higher education, exploring both the experiences of students who access mentoring and the perspectives of mentors themselves.

Having worked as a specialist mentor for many years, her experience motivated her to research specialist mentoring and to better understand how it is experienced by both students and mentors.  Siân is a keen traveller who has hiked the Inca Trail, cycled across Indochina, swum with whale sharks and taken the trains around India.
