If you have a research project in mind or are interested in our research, we’d love to hear from you.
The Centre for Psychological Research offers a collaborative and supportive environment for doctoral students working across a range of psychological disciplines. We welcome motivated applicants who are curious, committed and ready to contribute to impactful research.
We have specific projects which are advertised annually (these will be coming soon). Please do consider these opportunities. If none of these projects fit your interests, we also welcome expressions of interest, which can be submitted to the faculty: https://www.brookes.ac.uk/courses/research/psychology .
If you are unsure how to fund your studies, please do look at the information on UK loans for doctoral research. Funding can also be found from external sources.
100% of our research impact has been classed ‘world-leading’ (Research Excellence Framework 2021). We have an active research community in the Centre for Psychological Research with a regular seminar programme where we invite eminent researchers across the globe and internally organised events to help us build our research capacity in terms of impact, significance and rigour.
The PhD students in the Centre for Psychological Research are part of our research community and benefit from inclusion into all of the CfPR events which are organised and are designed to help to build the research capacity and knowledge of the centre. PhD students benefit from the knowledge of the staff and will be encouraged and supported to develop their own research networks.
Students will also be support by Oxford Brookes’ graduate college, the centre for academic development, the inclusive support service, wellbeing support and the careers advisory service.
