We explore how individuals’ beliefs, behaviours, and aspirations are shaped by their social circles and cultural environments—and how they, in turn, influence those contexts. Our team tackles urgent social issues through cutting-edge theory and innovative methods, always with a clear goal: to generate insights that improve lives and strengthen communities.
We study how children grow, learn, and thrive—across cognition, language, and developmental disorders. Our work spans homes, schools, and cutting-edge labs like the BabyLab, PuMA Lab, and Writing Lab, where we explore movement, language, literacy and more.
Our research spans three interconnected areas:
Movement – Exploring motor control and handwriting, especially in developmental conditions.
Sensory & Attention – Investigating how we perceive, process, and focus on the world around us.
Self, Emotion & Memory – Uncovering how memory and emotion shape identity and mental health.
We investigate how behaviours impact physical and mental wellbeing—focusing on prevention, lifestyle risks, and substance misuse. Our internationally funded research drives real-world change, and we welcome collaborations and PhD applications.
