Citations

Full citations:

    • Remember, if you got your article from an ELM database (like Student Resources in Context or Britannica), the citation should be ready for you to copy and paste into your bibliography.
    • Otherwise, use easybib to create your citation.
    • Want to try it the old fashioned way?
      • Citing an online resource: Last, First M. “Article Title (or Page Title).” Website Title. Website Publisher, Date Month Year Published. Web. Date Month Year Accessed. URL ***Check out the picture below***
          • If any of this info isn't available for your site SKIP IT.
          • MLA 7 doesn't actually require a URL but it's just smart research to include one.
      • Citing a newspaper article (even ones you find online) or a book is also super easy.


In text:

    • BOOK: (Author, page number)
    • ONLINE SOURCE: (Author) or if no author (Page Title)

    • Remember that "In-Text citations should be placed directly after the direct quote or paraphrase, or in a place that is a natural pause and does not cause the reader to become distracted while reading the body of your work" (In-Text Citations in MLA 8).
