Why the Moustache ?
Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men's suicide. Men are facing a health crisis, yet it’s rarely talked about.
Men’s health is in crisis. Men are dying on average 6 years earlier than women, and for largely preventable reasons.
Unchecked, prostate cancer rates will double over the next 15 years. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among men aged 15-39 years of age. And across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 75% of all suicides.

Challenge you and your family to be as active as possible from Monday 7th - Thursday 11th. Choose from the many exercises below. Keep a record of what you do, how much you do and fill out the google form. The more active you are the more distance we as a school can cover. If you have access to a smart phone/watch, you can download STRAVA which will tell you your distance for running, walking, cycling etc. Make sure to send a screen shot in your google form of distance covered. Or use your mathmatical mind to make a calculation.
Last year we managed to cover 670km raising $1520 in 3 days. Do you think we can beat this?

14) Crab walk and bounce a balloon - 1 bounce = 10m
15) Frog jump and bounce a balloon - 1 bounce = 10m
18) Bottle Flip - 1 flip 20 meters
19) Water bottle bowling - 50 metres
20) Balance toilet paper on foot - 1 second = 5 metres
22) Mountain climbers - 1 climber = 5 metres
23) Knees-up - 1 knee up = 5 metres
24) Balance stick on your hand - 1 second = 5 metres
Design your own Moustache
Cant grow one? No worries! To enter simply draw or make your own to win the compeition for the best Moustache. Use paper or recycle something from home to create the most magnificent moustache of them all! Send a selfie with your moustache on your face to enter the prize draw. Winners will be decided in each key stage.

All proceeds for this event will go to Hogar para sus niños. This is the home of 50 kids with disabilities that were not adopted or abandoned from their parents. They have 2 foster homes one in Quito and the other one in Latacunga close to Cotopaxi and they really survive with donations. Chick here to donate.
