The Eid Al Fitr holidays have been announced and will be from Thursday 19 March to Monday 23 March 2026. BSM follows all national holidays and so we will be closed for these days. School will resume on Tuesday 24 March 2026. Please see the Term Dates page of the BSM website to view the full academic calendar.
Wishing all our BSM families a blessed Eid Al Fitr.
Parents and families of performers are warmly invited to join us for this short concert as we celebrate the end of another wonderful term of music making. Performances will feature our Junior, Senior and Chamber Choirs, as well as our Big Band and Wind Band.
Students should be in smart school uniform and will need to be in the Oryx Theatre by 5:15pm at the latest. The concert will begin at 6:00pm and finish just before 7:00pm.
This event will be conducted online, providing parents with the opportunity to discuss their child’s progress with subject teachers.
Appointment bookings will open on 11 March at 2pm and will close on Tuesday, 24 March at 12 noon. Please secure your appointments in advance using the link here.
We encourage all families, as part of the BSM community, to take this opportunity to represent your country and celebrate culture and diversity at BSM. Please sign up to run a stall or perform by completing this Google Form by 17 March. All monies raised will go to BSM’s chosen charities for this year. Please note that all products sold at the Cultural Fair must be nut-free.
We wish you and your family a peaceful and blessed month.
The daily routine in school will remain unaltered during Ramadan and all curriculum subjects, including music and PE, will continue as normal; however, we are sensitive to the fact that students who are fasting may become tired and dehydrated during the day, particularly during active lessons. If any of our fasting students are feeling unable to participate fully in their lessons they should speak to their teacher as soon as possible and they will be given the option to rest for part of the session.
During break times, students fasting will be allocated a space where they may go if they choose, they are also welcome to join their friends in their usual areas if they wish to.
If your child will be fasting during Ramadan, please let us know ASAP. It is vital that you let us know so we can ensure your child’s teachers and our School Nurses are aware. Please indicate in the survey if your child will be fasting for the whole-day/every-day during the holy month of Ramadan.
On behalf of the school we would like to wish you and your family a peaceful and blessed month of Ramadan.

We are seeing a small increase in common seasonal illnesses such as vomiting and diarrhoea (D&V) and throat infections. This is quite normal when communities mix again after holidays. Please keep an eye out for symptoms such as fever, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhoea, tummy pain, fatigue or reduced appetite. Most mild viral illnesses will settle with rest, fluids and time.
Please consider seeking advice from your GP if your child has:
A fever lasting more than 48 hours
Severe throat pain or difficulty swallowing
Vomiting or diarrhoea lasting longer than 24–48 hours
Signs of dehydration such as very little urine, dry mouth or unusual tiredness
Any symptoms that are worsening or causing concern
A reminder that if your child has experienced vomiting or diarrhoea, they should remain at home until 48 hours after the last episode before returning to school. This helps protect the wider school community. Thank you for your support in helping keep everyone healthy.
As usual, we are inviting all students to come in non uniform. There is no theme, and no collection of money, it is simply a mini-celebration to mark the last day of term.
School will finish at 12pm for the Senior School, please ensure that you collect your children promptly. If you have children in the Primary School please familiarise yourself with the pick up times and arrangements which have been shared in the Primary Notices Sites.
A reminder that the BSM site is not open for visitors or parents between 7:30am–4:20pm. If you have a meeting, please sign in at the main reception and you will be escorted at all times whilst on site. Thank you for keeping our site safe.
All BSM parents are required to have a RED BSM parent lanyard to enter the school site. If you don't already have one, particularly for our Parent Consultation Days, please can you complete our Security Pass Application form.
Please follow this link to view plans and images of the new BSM Masterplan.
We are beginning to standardise our device strategy around Google Chromebooks to ensure a consistent, reliable and user-friendly learning platform across the school. With this in mind, we kindly ask that any new devices purchased for your child for use in school are Chromebooks. Please see our BYOD document for further information.
Senior School students should be dropped and collected from the following locations (unless they have Primary School siblings or are walking to/from school):
Morning drop off: Bottom of school
End of school day: Top car park*
After activities: Top car park
*If a student is walking home from the Senior School, then they can leave via either the top or the bottom gate, however they must walk all the way home and not be picked up outside of school, as this adds to the congestion.
Please remember, only students in the Senior School who are walking home will be permitted to leave via the bottom car park exit. If your child is being picked up by car and does not have primary school siblings, you will need to use the top car park for pick-up arrangements.
Please can we ask that parents arriving to collect children in the top car park for a 2pm pick-up, do not arrive before 1:45pm. This is to allow our Primary School parents enough time to collect their Y1 and Y2 children safely. Thank you.
Please see our BSM WhatsApp Groups Document for all the links. Please read the code of conduct carefully before joining any BSM WhatsApp groups.
Please have a look at our Senior School Quick Start Guide to see information and links for all parents. This includes key contact details, where to collect your children and much more.
All BSM school uniform can now be bought from ZAKS.

Week A or B? Please check the calendar on the website. Each week has an A or B to denote which week is which in the Senior School.
If you are missing an email from school, please check we have your details correct on our Parent Portal.
We are aware of a few problems with our emails not being received by parents, particularly for Yahoo and Hotmail addresses. To help our emails make it to your inbox we would recommend the following:
Gmail users - emails sometimes go into the 'promotions' tab and occasionally 'spam'. Please check both these folders. To correct, you can just drag and drop one such message to the 'Primary' mailbox and click Yes on the confirmation box for all future messages.
Yahoo & Hotmail users - emails sent to a group (such as a class or year group) are often filtered out as spam by Yahoo and Hotmail. You can avoid this by adding the email addresses below to your contacts. Please also consider providing us with an alternative email address to contact you.
ALL users: Please add the following email addresses to your contacts to ensure our emails get to your inbox:

On their day of a PE lesson, Senior School students should arrive at school wearing their PE kit. They must bring a school uniform to change into at the end of the lesson (to maintain their personal hygiene) unless the lesson is Period 5, in which case, students can go onto their ECA (if appropriate) or go home. Changing rooms will be locked so all personal belongings are safe; although after school, for ECAs, this may not be the case.
On a day when a student has a PE ECA but not a PE lesson, he/she must come to school in school uniform and change into PE kit, after school, in preparation for their activity.
Deodorant is acceptable, however, no glass containers are allowed and aerosol sprays are not permitted.
Here at BSM we recognise that food allergies are a serious concern. 1 in 50 children have an allergy to nuts with some having severe, life threatening reactions (Anaphylaxis). In order to protect our students with severe nut allergies, we have a no nut policy.
We ask that no nuts or nut products are brought into school. This includes:
Any type of nuts
Pesto
Peanut butter
Nutella
Nougat and Marzipan
Sesame seed rolls (we also have children severely allergic to sesame seeds)
Any food items containing nuts - Chocolates, cereal bars, cakes, biscuits etc.
Many thanks for your support with keeping our children safe.
Kind Regards
BSM Nurses
