Authentication by IP address is a very popular choice as it requires little effort from the Administrator.
This IP address must be static and reserved for the school who has purchased Britannica.
We are able to check if an IP address is unique or shared before we use it to authenticate access.

This allows access to Britannica from anywhere that users can access the institution’s portal from and means that they do not need any additional logins.

This is a very flexible system that is easier to use and more adaptable than simple username and password. It can be adapted to authentication ID patterns already available within the school, either student IDs or library card bar codes.
Alternatively, we can agree a single ID for all users to enter as a password.

- Access the site that you want the user to access.
- At the top of the screen, click on the icon indicated in the Safari toolbar.
- Select the option Add to Home Screen option from the menu given.
- Name the Icon correctly.
- Click on Add. The button will now be created on the desktop of the iPad.

- Please request a unique URL from your account manager
- Add a new tab in your Team
- Add either a SharePoint or Website tab.
- Add the unique URL provided to the URL* Box and save it.
- Once clicking on the tab you will then see Britannica School. It will only work in this tab however.
- For access outside of Teams the link will need to be placed on a Sharepoint tab as a link there.
