In English we worked in groups to think of vocabulary to describe the characters and settings in Little Red Riding Hood. We wrote our vocabulary beside pictures from the story and then presented our vocabulary to our class.
In Art we created a mini beast garden by collaging different coloured papers for the sky, grass and soil. We then finger painted mini beasts on our pictures.
In Science, we learned facts about spiders and their webs. We then created our own spider webs using paper plates and string. First we painted a spider using our hands. We had to make sure we only used 4 fingers on each hand as spiders only have 8 legs!
In Geography we are learning about drawing maps. We went to Lyle Park to explore the local area and discussed what features we could include in our maps.
In ICT we have been practising coding bee-bots. First we created a woodland map by drawing pictures of things our bee-bot could visit in the woods. We then coded our bee-bot to move to each thing on the mat. We worked in teams for this activity and even challenged ourselves to move the bee-bot to the picture in one go.
In D&T we created our own habitats using our design from Tuesday. We each had a cardboard box and used different tools and materials to create the habitat. We used materials such as egg cartons, toilet rolls, tissue paper and feathers to add detail to our habitats.
We planted some cress seeds. We dipped a cotton wool in some water and sprinkled some seeds on top. We then placed the cotton wool in a cup and placed it by a window. We talked about what we thought would happen to the seeds. We will look at our seeds every day and talk about the changes we see and record the results on Day 1, 3 and 5.
