We have been learning about Our Local Area. We learned the names of some of the landmarks in West Silvertown and discussed how the Tate and Lyle Factory has made Golden Syrup for many years.
We predicted what objects would float and sink in the water. We then investigated by putting the different objects in the water. We found out that the felt tip, tennis ball and apple floats in water but the scissors, paper clip and glass jar sinks in the water.
We looked at pictures of water in different countries and discussed how water is clean in some countries and dirty in other countries. We also talked about how children in other countries have to go to the toilet outside in comparison to us going to the toilet inside.
We visited Barking Splashpark to find out how we can use water for fun activities. We enjoyed splashing in the water and playing with our friends.
We made rain shakers today using cups and rice. We then made our own music by shaking them to create the sound of rain.
