The students at Collins Elementary participated in a Musical Composer Scavenger Hunt. They had to gather information for their composer from an i-pad or Chromebook. Next they worked with a group to gather information on their composer and create a skit with interesting facts about their composers. The composers used in this project for every class was Bach, Beethoven, Haydn, and Mozart.
Here are the overall winners of the music composer skits.
3rd Grade winner - 3D
BACH
Bach drank 30 cups of coffee every day.
He had 20 children.
He taught piano to his children.
4th Grade winner - 4C
HAYDN
Haydn hated people snoring at his concerts so he wrote the Surprise Symphony to trick them.
In this symphony, the orchestra played very softly at the beginning to get the snorers asleep. When the loud note was played by every instrument in the orchestra, people jumped and they would wake up.
5th Grade winners-5B & 5F
MOZART
When Mozart would rehearse with his opera singers, he would get bored and he would start meowing like a cat and jump over chairs.
He would sneak up behind a choir member who wasn't singing correctly and encourage that singer to do so.
BEETHOVEN
Beethoven became deaf at age 25.
Because of this difficulty, he would play the piano on the floor with his ears close and strick the notes very hard in order to feel the vibrations. He even broke some of his piano strings when he would play so hard.
He never gave up on composing music and would work all night sometimes. To keep awake, he would pour water over his head.
When people would hear his music, it made them cry because it was so beautiful. He would just laugh at them for this.
His handicap made him very moody. He would even through food at restaurants if he did not like how his food tasted.
