Letter to Parents

Welcome to my new classroom website!

Hello! My name is Janet Fechner and I teach K-5 elementary music at Collins and Edison Elementary. I look forward to sharing music with my students each school year.

The Edison 2nd grade students of 2019-2020 will be performing a music program, "The Grumps of Ring-A-Ding Town" November 20, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. the Freeland Performing Arts Center. I have created videos for all of the songs, tryouts, and complete script to this program. This information will be under Resources.

I am a native of Bristow and I graduated from Bristow High School and earned by bachelor's degree in Music Education at Oklahoma Christian College. I have been teaching music for thirty seven and a half years. I taught K-5 music, middle school and high school choir at Kellyville for five years. I taught Middle School and High School Choir at Bristow for nine years. For the past nineteen years, I have been teaching K-5 music in Bristow.

Since I teach K-5 music, I have the opportunity to not only see students physically mature and grow but also musically develop. Music is a very important part of my life and it has been a joy to see students fulfill their dreams and ambitions in music. I hope you will use my site to have fun and increase your musical knowledge and abilities. I would like to leave you with a quote by the very famous American cartoonist, Charles Schultz.
