the ACP Process

Bristol School District #1

What is the ACP process for Bristol School students?

Bristol School District uses Xello to support 6th-8th grade students in their ACP process and future planning.

Academic and career planning and readiness is a gradual process that grows from year to year through high school and even beyond that.

This gradual process celebrates, supports, and acknowledges the unique interests, skills, and talents of students as they plan for their futures.

Xello allows students to take interest and skill inventories, explore post-secondary options, and offers a place to save helpful future planning ideas and information.

6th grade ACP/Xello lessons:  Decision Making, Interests, School Subjects at Work, Time Management, and Career Exploration

7th grade ACP/Xello lessons:  Biases and Career Choices, Discover Learning Pathways, Learning Styles, Jobs and Employers, and Career Exploration

8th grade ACP/Xello lessons:  Explore Career Matches, Self-Advocacy, Skills, Transition to High School and Career Exploration

8th grade students will also take their grown-ups on a virtual tour of their ACP & future readiness progress and work in Xello.  Students will have the chance to share short and long term goals and their plans for the future with their families during these tours/meetings.
