Did you know?

ACP “is a requirement for Wisconsin school boards. Under Wis. Stat. § 115.28(59)(b) every school board will ensure that it is providing academic and career planning services to pupils enrolled in grades 6 to 12 in the school district…” (dpi.wi.gov, 2021).

ACP is also a part of the Wisconsin School Counseling Model  and the American School Counselor Association Standards: Mindsets & Behaviors and connects to our school counseling lesson curriculum.

More did you know?

“Wisconsin State Statute 115.28(59) requires that school districts be provided a computer software [program], to be used statewide by school districts, to provide academic and career planning (ACP) services to pupils in grades 6-12…” Students use the Xello software for this requirement. (dpi.wi.gov, 2021).

Here’s how it works...

With Xello, 6th-8th grade students will:

Build Self-knowledge (KNOW):  Define interests, skills, preferences, and aspirations and explore the opportunities right for them.

Explore Options (EXPLORE): Learn about career possibilities and educational pathways by exploring rich, engaging content and lessons.

Create a Plan (PLAN):  Create dynamic actionable plans that outline the steps needed to achieve school, career, and life goals.

Learn and Reassess (GO): Explore interactive lessons to help develop age-appropriate skills and knowledge for success in school and beyond.
