School Counselor
I am ecstatic to be part of the BRMS team! I have spent much of my career in the elementary world, but I started out at middle school and am happy to be back as a school counselor! I am here to help you succeed through academic and social-emotional support and am ALWAYS available if or when you need me.
The Four Counseling Components
Guidance Curriculum:
This is the teaching part of school counseling. These lessons are usually taught in the classroom setting and allow students to apply skills to their daily lives by focusing on the developmental needs of students. Examples are academic support, goal setting, career awareness, peer relationships, communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, etc.
Accounts for 35% - 45% of a school counselor’s time.

Responsive Services:
These can be preventative, remedial, or crisis and are used when a student’s well-being is put at-risk.
