Your Path To Success Begins Here
Welcome to the Company Network Features Section of the Learning Center!
Section 1: Company Network Features serves as a foundational introduction to the Bright Trucking Company Network (BTCN), the primary digital environment utilized by Fleet Managers. This section outlines key features and applications that enable efficient navigation and execution of daily workflows. The learning center explains that the BTCN is comprised of seven main features. The initial features discussed relate to the overall structure and organization of the network interface.
The first general feature detailed is the 1)Bookmarks Bar. This bar provides organized access to the company's extensive collection of over 300 systems, websites, and links. These resources are systematically arranged within folders corresponding to the company's six departments: Operations, Accounting, Compliance, Safety, Training (CST), Maintenance, Human Resources (HR), and Information Technology (IT). Each department folder further contains dropdowns for relevant "Systems," "Training" materials, and links to Google Drive folders where company records are stored.
The second general feature is the 2)Workflow Tab Dividers. These colored and categorized tabs appear at the top of a web browser and are designed to logically organize the numerous websites Fleet Managers must access during their daily tasks.
The "4 Core Systems" page of the learning center introduces 3)LoadOps TMS, 4)Motive FMS, 5)Quickbooks ACCSYS, and 6)Expired Events Registry, the main systems the company uses to operate.
Beyond these organizational features, Section 1 also covers 7)Google Workspace and Other Commonly Used Applications. The BTCN is hosted by Google, providing Fleet Managers with access to the full suite of Google Workspace Applications designed to enhance productivity. While the entire suite is available, certain applications are particularly important for Fleet Managers' daily operations. These include Google Mail (Gmail), which is the company's most widely used application and includes features like email filtering, detailed operational workflow templates, and professional email signatures. Google Voice provides individual business phone numbers for FMs and is highlighted as the preferred method for Fleet Managers to initiate communications with drivers, especially for short messages where quick affirmative responses are needed. Google Maps is used frequently for its precision in verifying addresses and calculating city-to-city distances, which is crucial for quoting prices and determining load feasibility, and its "Street View" feature can help visualize locations. Google Drive serves as the central repository for all company record-keeping and documents, organized similarly to the bookmarks bar by department. Google Sheets is standardized for viewing responses from driver Communications and for the Expired Events Registry (EER). Google Forms is specifically used to facilitate structured communications (Comms) from drivers to Fleet Managers, integrating with Google Sheets to organize responses. Other applications mentioned in this section include Google Meet, Cloud HQ extensions, Microsoft Whiteboard, Beeftext, and Adobe Acrobat Creative Cloud.
In summary, Section 1 provides Fleet Managers with a comprehensive overview of the core digital infrastructure and essential applications they will interact with daily within the Bright Trucking Company Network, setting the stage for understanding the workflows and procedures detailed in subsequent sections.
