Council

A Council is a consistent and reliable communication tool. Rooted in indigenos practices, Council used throughout Bright Star Schools to strengthening our community through empathetic storytelling and listening. Council provide us with a structure to better understand one another and ourselves. They are facilitated with students and all stakeholders in time of accord and struggle. Given that the majority of social conflict stems from a lack of empathy and miscommunication, Councils are facilitated frequently to:

1. Proactively promote empathy and compassion

2. Mediate conflict and repair harm 

Councils are therefore an essential part of our culture at Bright Star Schools. They are facilitated by both staff and students.
