Every student at Brighton Beach Primary School has a weekly timetabled Library lesson. This is flexibly arranged with each class teacher instilling a broad knowledge and love of literature and learning, safe and authoritative research skills, ICT proficiency and the understanding of the Dewey Decimal Classification System.

Our students are strongly encouraged to recommend books to their peers as well as to us in the Library. We endeavor to ensure that every interest students have is supported by the Library collection.

The Library is open every lunchtime from 2pm; students can enjoy quiet reading, makers space, research, colouring in, playing board games. Every term the Library hosts a grade book club.

Borrowing
Books are borrowed for a period of one week and can be extended at any time the student wishes.
Foundation – Grade One
May borrow 1 book per week.
Grade Two to Grade Three
May borrow 2 books per week.
Grade Four to Grade Six
May borrow 3 books per week.
Overdue Notices are sent out once a term.
