There are many types of viruses such as Malware, the meme virus and the ILOVEYOU (weird name, but it's really dangerous)

Viruses are very dangerous. Some of these will hack into your personal information, while others will crash or break your computer.for information on how to combat viruses click here

There is also one virus called the Y2K virus which gets the year wrong and instead of 2000 it would be 1900
