Reading fluency is the ability to read with speed, accuracy, and expression. It's the third pillar of literacy and connects reading comprehension to word recognition. Fluent readers can recognize words automatically, group words quickly, read with expression, divide words into chunks, use proper phrasing, and pay attention to punctuation.
