This site is an organized collection of prompts developed to assist BSU faculty and administrators with using generative artificial intelligence (GAI). We've compiled a range of prompts that you can tailor to meet your specific needs. Our goal is that the prompts we share on this site will help you get the most out of LLMs.
Large Language Models (LLMs) like Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini, Claude, and ChatGPT will generate the needed information when supplied with the right instructions, or prompts. These advanced models make use of context, generate human-like text, and provide informative and creative solutions to a wide array of queries and tasks.
The site is organized according to function/the reason you are interacting (e.g., having a conversation) with a large language model such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or Google Gemini.
Use the Menu options at the top of the site to navigate to the collection of prompts, which are organized by function:
The Home section (i.e., the page you are currently viewing) includes general site information, basic AI terminology, and prompt engineering tips. The dropdown menu under Home features References of all prompt sources.
The Course Development heading includes prompts you would use to, for example, create lesson plans or assessments. The dropdown menu includes pages for Course Planning, Assignments & Activities, Assessments, and Student Engagement.
The Student-AI Collaborative Activities heading includes prompts you would give to student for them to use to complete a assignments that involve interacting with an LLM. These prompts are crafted to help students leverage the capabilities of an LLM for personalized learning experiences, fostering deeper understanding and engagement in their coursework.
The dropdown menu includes pages for AI-Assisted Learning, Group Work, and Knowledge Application.
The Writing Assistance section includes AI prompts that are meant to assist anyone with drafting, editing, or organizing a piece of writing. Some prompts may also double as feedback mechanisms on student submissions.
The Research section is geared towards assisting with research related projects or assignments.
With some prompts, we offered our own 💡Tips and 📒Notes to help you get the most of the prompt. Additionally, some of the curated prompts, identified by 🔑 Key, were written with brackets. Simply replace the brackets with your own text.
Example:
You want to use the below prompt but need to tailor it toward your own needs.
First select the LLM (e.g., Copilot or Gemini).
Copy the prompt. In this example, you would copy the following text: You are a [Master of Cybersecurity] about to attend a lecture on [encryption].
Paste the text into the context window of the LLM and replace the content about cybersecurity with your needs. An example could be: You are an undergraduate senior majoring in English about to attend a lecture on creative writing.
Do not copy any icons associated with prompts; simply paste the prompt only when using an LLM.
🔑 Key Replace text within brackets with your own text
