DCMS P1/P2/M1
The UK department of culture media and sports deals with all matters of sport in the UK. The UK goes through several measures to encourage people to take part in sports such as grassroot local teams that play matches in facilities that are funded by the government with the hope of getting more people involved in sport by providing facilities that they can take part in. There are different sectors within sports in the UK. The public sector which involves local facilities such as local sport clubs for all ages that have funding from either the government or charities. The private sector is run by private non-government bodies. The voluntary sector which is funded by the public sector this would improve exclusive clubs such as hockey and atheletic clubs. The final sector is the tertiary sector which is concerned with providing what equiptment may be needed such as footballs or anything else that is required to do play a specific sport. The responsibility of the DCMS is to promote sports and culture in the United Kingdom by focusing on the digital infrastructure by promoting sport online. In turn this does also support the promotion of esport aswell despite the DCMS not directly focusing on supporting esport itself. Each part of the United Kingdom has its own individual council. These include Sport Wales, Sport England, SportScotland, and Sport Northern Scotland. All of which determine which governing body is responsible for each individual council.
