Typical School Day

• Morning Drop Off

Drop off is by the preschool entrance. Pick up is at the same location.

• Morning Meeting

Every morning the class will gather for routine activities such as calendar/weather, Letter of the Week, group games/songs, or sharing. This time focuses on the social-emotional development of the students.

• Instructional Time

After Morning Meeting each day instruction and activities are organized to target developmental areas such as: academic readiness, sensory play, art activity, fine motor activity, gross motor activity, and other teacher-directed lessons. The teacher-directed lessons will vary from day to day, but might be: sequencing, patterning, fine/gross motor activities, or language and reading activities. The students work independently or with teacher/adult support.

• Snacktime

Each classroom has a designated snack time. The classroom teacher will notify families of any allergies or if the classroom is peanut-aware.

• Playground/Play

Movement activities are built-in throughout the day both in and out of the classroom. Weather permitting- each class has playtime outside.

• Closing Meeting/Dismissal

Each class gathers for a closing meeting to discuss and review the activities of the day. Closing meeting incorporates a routine that may include daily songs or games.
